It’s still close enough to town to see the sites or take a tour then return to a relaxing home. Sharing a house and meeting other travelers was a bonus. Most of all, we enjoyed our evening with the host (Mark) and his son (Harry) sharing stories. We highly recommend staying at the Shannon River House.

The property is non-smoking and is located 700 metres from Cork Custom House. The staff was so friendly. Excellent spread for breakfast every morning, could not believe it was free. Rooms were clean, nice fitness facility. Couldn't have had a better stay.

It is situated 46 km from Blarney Castle and provides a shared kitchen. There is an outdoor fireplace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Absolutely everything, it is remote and a car is required although we did get a taxi as we were out for a party in Kanturk. Hazel could not have been more helpful, supplying scones on our arrival and even ironing my dress for my night out. Super place to stay and I will definitely return.

It has big windows overlooking the bay, watching the sunsets. Nice 3 bedroom, open kitchen and living area. The hosts provided a bottle of fresh orange juice and milk which was nice for the next morning wakeup.
