The hotspring (onsen) was nice as it was inside our cottage so it was private and very cool. Rooms were immaculate and the fridge and stove top with all necessary utensils was a definite plus! walkable to almost everything you need including the ski lifts at Akakura.

The villa is close to Lotte Arai resort (about 5 minute drive) and the managers of the villa were extremely helpful in arranging transport for our group with a neighbour, who was charming and helpful. The manager also arranged dinner for us at a local restaurant which usually only offers lunch and this was a very special experience for us. The drying room was excellent for our ski gear. From the house are views of the surrounding rice fields and up to the mountains.
