Initially, we booked for just one night, but after experiencing this place—by far the best of the seven accommodations we stayed at in Sri Lanka—we decided to extend our stay. The host is exceptionally warm and attentive, making sure every guest feels welcome. Breakfast is another highlight, as the host thoughtfully prepares whatever guests desire, whether it's a traditional local dish or something more familiar.

Very clean, great value for money, the cabins are beautiful! The included breakfast was one of the best we have had :) hosts even took into account I am gluten free for breakfast which was amazing.

At the apartment complex, all units have bed linen and towels. The property was beautifully designed and was set in amongst the trees so felt very safe and secluded. There was the option of an outdoor shower and bathroom (as well as the inside one) so you really felt at one with nature. It was very close to the beach in one direction and very near town in the other direction- so was super convenient.

At the bed and breakfast, the units are equipped with bed linen and towels. Accommodation was a really good value, as the room was bright, seemed new, had a beautiful private balcony and bathroom was really nice. Fan was working well and sockets were universal, good for travelers. Loation is like 10 minutes walk from the train station and the main road where all the caffees are, however, it is also very calm and peaceful location.

Susanna and Tusharo (please excuse me if I’m misspelling the names :) were wonderful hosts. Welcoming and informative. It really felt like our own house. Spotless clean, equipped with everything a traveler needs, beautiful nature around, a garden well kept. Another great thing is the hosts really care about animals and Tusharo shared fascinating information about the connection local people share with the sea turtles (we got lucky and swam with them). The beach has some great surf. Would love to come back and stay more.

The room was enormous, with all modern comforts, a very spacious bathroom, and a king-size bed that made our nights perfect. The home-cooked meals were absolutely delicious, and every detail showed how much care was put into making our stay special. We loved the complimentary boat ride to the stunning, endless beach – such a unique and beautiful experience. The boat safari on the river and through the mangroves, guided by Shen, was a real highlight and gave us lasting memories. Most of all, the hospitality of our hosts, Nuwan and his lovely wife, together with their attentive and friendly team, made us feel truly at home. Their warmth and kindness turned our stay into something exceptional. We highly recommend Amber House to anyone visiting Bentota – we cannot wait to come back!

A lovely property with huge beautiful villas and a very clean swimming pool. Lovely staff. We will stay longer next time.
