Waking up every morning to the great view to Kanchenjunga was an incredible experience. The room was spacious and comfortable with cozy wooden interior and a split-level layout. There was an electric heating mat on the mattress so we never felt cold in our room during the winter time. Maintaining a property in the mountain area is never an easy task and the hotel staff has done a great job in providing a comfortable accommodation to their guests. The complimentary shuttle service to the city centre, although with time restriction, is convenient and reliable.

The high ceilings and spaciousness of our room beautifully reflected the hotel’s Victorian and Edwardian heritage, steeped in history since the 1840s. The staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming, and the Hotel’s strong commitment to diversity and inclusion was very visible among the staff that served us. The hotel's central location made it easy to walk to New Market, and booking transportation was a breeze, thanks to their assistance at checkout. Breakfast featured a delightful spread with authentic Bengali flavors, including mishti doi (sweet curd) and luchi aloo (bread with potato). A special highlight was the enchanting performance by Breeti, who played the Dotara and sang folk songs, adding a unique touch to the experience. Overall, the ambiance was lovely, and I would definitely stay here again. A special thank you to the young man who helped me track my train live—your patience and support were greatly appreciated!
