Great location for us, friendly and helpful staff. The complimentary welcome drink was lovely. Had a morning swim in the heated pool. The breakfast was amazing. Had a huge selection of food.

A continental breakfast is served every morning at the property. Various restaurants are available within a short drive, with the property possessing partnerships with a few of them. A gem! The room and all other facilities were great, and the staff were simply amazing. Hope to come again!

The Viana do Castelo Park is an 8-minute drive and has green areas for guests to hike and cycle in, all while facing the Lima River. The Art and Archaeology Museum stands nearby, just a 3-minute walk from the hotel. Braga is a 46-minute drive, featuring a historical city centre and a well-known Cathedral. Valença, near the Spanish border is a 43-minute drive from the hotel. The scenic city of Guimarães is 52-minutes away by car and was the 2012 European Capital of Culture. I would have given a 10 just for the room. but there was also free breakfast and a nice and clean pool and jacuzzi. So I would say it is exceptional!

The hotel is absolutely fabulous but made even better by the staff they couldn't do enough to make us welcome

Staying at Solar de Vila Meã was a beautiful experience from start to finish. The first thing that struck me was the setting — it’s absolutely stunning. Surrounded by vineyards and peaceful countryside, the entire property feels like a hidden retreat. Every view, whether from the room, the pool, or the garden, looked like a painting. There’s a real sense of calm and space here that’s hard to describe but easy to fall in love with. The restaurant, Barro, completely exceeded expectations. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely proud of what they serve, which made the whole experience even more special. If you’re looking for a place that combines natural beauty with exceptional food and a sense of quiet luxury, I couldn’t recommend Solar de Vila Meã more highly.

At Quinta de Silvalde guests will find facilities including a hammam and a spa and wellness centre. The place is amazing by itself. Surround by nature, cozy, classic, modern and fancy. Spa is great and we even used the gym. Food at restaurant was great and nice price.

The pictures honestly don’t do this place justice. It is a true paradise. The location is ideal and the owners are so sweet. They’ve thought of absolutely everything. I cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough.

The property has river and garden views, and is 8.5 km from University of Minho - Gualtar Campus. The accommodation provides a hot tub, free WiFi and family rooms. This is probably the first guest house we stayed at that is WAY better than what it looks in the pictures. Lovelly place for a relaxing getaway with family.

The lodge features a spa and wellness centre with a hot tub and a hammam. I stayed here on March 17th, 2025. This was the best hotel in Portugal. It had amazing views, a great staff and great amenities. I will stay here frequently.
