The staff was EXCEPTIONAL. After two long days of travel & so excited about finally being at our destination, I left my purse on the train. At the hotel everyone jumped into action to help me get it back! (It was delivered to the hotel by the conductor himself.) I really cannot thank the staff enough for saving our holiday. Also, the room was spotless and cozy.

Very close to Thurso Train Station, this hotel has free Wi-Fi, free public parking and comfortable rooms with Freeview TV. Station Hotel serves fine Scottish meat cooked in a traditional style.

Excellent Hotel and Staff, facilities were very good and staff were lovely and very accommodating. I really enjoyed the full Scottish in the morning.

They have the kindest most helpful hard working and friendly staff I've encountered in my travels. The place is receiving the attention it needs to make it more modern without losing its charm, it has a new owner, new staff in training, the food is nice, the place is big and it has a bar. The room has good curtains for the windows keeping the room dark in the summer, which for me is essential. I'd very much like to stay there again and I recommend the stay.

The room was lovely and warm and had everything we needed. We just stayed one night on our way to Orkney and it was good to be able to have dinner downstairs as it was quite cold and we really appreciated our hot breakfast before our ferry ride to Orkney the next morning. We would stay here again.

The last hotel on the A9, The Ferry Inn at Scrabster is newly renovated and has wonderful sea views. Just north of Thurso, Scrabster Harbour is the gateway to the Orkney Islands.

We booked a twin but there were no twins available on arrival so the staff just gave us seperate rooms, absolutely hassle free, no extra charge and extremely client friendly. They wanted to ensure we were comfortable and happy. It was genuine. Great people

Very friendly and helpful staff

This small, family-run hotel has free Wi-Fi and free parking. It is in the centre of Castletown, close to Thurso and Wick and only minutes from the Castle of Mey.

Our hosts were wonderful and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed (we stayed for 2 weeks). We loved the kitchen facilities, it had everything we could ever need. The location was great. We didn't have a car but the local buses came through Castletown several times a day. It was easy to get to John O'Groats, Dunnet Head, Thurso and Wick (If you go to Orkney on the early ferry, you'll need to walk from Thurso to Scabster). The central heating was great and we could adjust it down when needed. It was very comfortable, perfect for our needs and a home away from home.
