The temple and grounds are stunningly beautiful. The room was the nicest I've had on this trip - comfortable and beautiful. The temple is cold but the heaters in the bedrooms made it very comfortable. The meals were delicious - again some of my best on my entire trip. They were very generous in sharing information about their religion and culture, and inviting tourists to participate in activities that helped us to better understand the life and routine at Ekoin. I appreciated the booklet in the room that explained how to navigate different things (e.g. the meditation, the morning service) so that I better understood. It was a special experience and was grateful for the opportunity to visit here.

We are over the moon to see the Buddha relic at this temple! The staff is very kind and tried to introduce Buddhism in English! After the morning chanting, we had a temple tour and saw the Buddha relic 💯

Koyasan is a small beautiful Buddhist village in the mountain. The Shukubo Fudoin offers a fantastic possibility to learn a little of a Buddhist monk life and the religion. The monks are very nice and their dinner are delicious. We also enjoyed their onsen. This shukubo is very beautiful and the monk were doing their outmost to give us an unforgettable time with them. Thank you!

Superb location, comfortable accommodation, and cultural activities opportunities including a tour of the Danjo Garan complex across from Saizenin (Japanese required) and guided meditation (English ok) for a small fee. Would happily stay again!

Wonderful experience in temple with monks. Dinner and breakfast were so good ! It's so peaceful there (except for our neighbors who talked a lot at night). Kotatsu was so good to have, so warm. The ceremony was so great. Thank you again for your welcoming.

We rented a wrong room type for two person and the staff was very understanding and helpful to change the room. The breakfast was delicious and the kitchen staff very nice. A lot of parking space.

The area was beutiful with some lovely walks. Great for a relaxing time. The host realy went above and beyond. I don't think there is a walkable shop but the hotel is also a restaurant.

Oh my! The absolute best hotel we stayed at. The ryokan was absolute. Outside foot bath. Hot stone rest room. Onsen in and out real onsen (people go there more for that). The dinner was a poetry. All music to my ears. Absolute amazing place.
