After staying at many small Sri Lankan independent hotel / guest houses, from the very north to the south this is undoubtedly the best. One of 2 reviews from me as most other being average: This place is perfectly run, perfectly maintained, great pool and great breakfasts! The evening restaurant offers a mix of Italian and Sri Lankan dishes and after a few weeks traveling nothing beats a homemade Lasagna with a glass of Red! The Beach at 2 mins away is also nr perfect. Even with the rough seas experienced on this coast there is a northern corner that is calm enough to enjoy a good swim. Well done team and Gaby, you run a great establishment. I hope to return with many friends. T

The fantastic Madame Mani is the owner and manager of Gurugedare Heritage. She welcomes all guests with open arms and you feel welcome and home immediately. International or domestic breakfast is offered. Lunch and dinner are Sri Lankan dishes with local ingredients. Great for 2 days disconnecting, surrounded by nature. The open air cabanas and rooms are amazing, especially the open shower, I saw 2 toucans chilling on my shower. Pool is great and there is plenty of space for sunbathing there when tired of the beach. Option to join a yoga class (morning and evening) or have a treatment at the spa as add-ons. Breakfast was good (mostly sri Lankan curry but some sweet options too)

Highly recomend Sky Villa ! Everything was perfect . Perfect to get away from the most touristic places and super close to the beach and local markets ans stores. Staff was super friendly and helpfull!!

Beautiful modern hotel. Close to the beach but slightly up the hill so it’s pretty quiet at night. Owners were great - made us welcome drinks and surprised us with a gift on Christmas Day. Breakfast was the best - cooked fresh to order every morning.

The staff were very kind and gave us a welcome smoothie as we arrived. The breakfast was top class and we had to option of a Sri Lankan breakfast for the second morning. Very close proximity to the beach yet quite peaceful at night time, with no music nearby. There's a beautiful coffee shop around the corner and the air conditioning was brilliant.

The staff, particularly Sajjith and Thilida, were exceptionally helpful with my request to gain access to the local university. They also helped by meeting me at the station and organising transport- I couldn’t have asked for more.
