Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and is fitted with a flat-screen TV. The location of Motel one Basel is extraordinary. When I first looked at Google Maps, I thought it was good, but when I arrived and saw it in person, it was out of this world. The doors of the lobby literally opened up onto Barfusserplatz. I might be slightly exaggerating with my descriptions but as I was there during the Christmas Markets, it literally felt like stepping out of my house directly into such a lively market, and that was perfect. The rooms was spacious, clean and the beds comfortable. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful, he provided an adaptor (I didn't have the Swiss adaptor) and also helped to exchange my large denomination CHF for smaller notes too. Service was always with a smile, nothing like Swiss Hospitality!

The rooms overlook the garden in the courtyard or the nearby forest. They feature wooden floors, smart TVs, a work desk, and a hairdryer. Simple and very pleasant, neat place in an excellent location - 3 mins walk from a big garage, 3 mins from the zoo (I was with a kid) and 10 mins from the historic city center. Breakfast was also simple with a limited selection of food, but everything was nice - bread and cold cuts and cereal, also coffee (though everyone has different taste in coffee). It’s has a lovely inner court for a summer terrace, I imagine it’s lovely in summer (still chilly when I was there). The hotel was perfect for an overnight stay in Basel

The Hotel Alexander is located right at the Messe Basel fairgrounds and the Congress Centre, a 7-minute ride from the centre of Basel. The tram stop is right outside. Free Wi-Fi is available.

The restaurant Alexander serves Swiss specialties and offers different Pizza varieties and delivery service in the hotel. It was a perfect place to sleep after a long trip. Everything was very clean, good location and nice people. We arrived late around 23pm but the check in was easy.

The accommodation enjoys a central and very quiet location close to the university and the cantonal hospital. The hotel has a small garden and free WLAN. Ticked all the boxes - great room - great location - staff were very helpful.
