Micheal is an incredible host!…so fun and friendly and always making sure we were comfortable and had all we needed. We feel like he is now part of our family! The food was so delicious as well. The cottage has been very tastefully done up whilst retaining so much of it's original character and the owners Jo and Martyn had thought about absolutely everything to make our stay as welcoming as possible with a few little treats on top, it is warm cosy with plentiful hot water and a well equipped kitchen for those that like to cook on holiday, we loved it so much we are planning to go back next year! Talgarth is an ideal place for people like ourselves that like to ditch the car and explore the area on foot with easy access to the black mountains and many other beautiful walks straight out of the village. There are many areas of beauty close by if you prefer to go further afield to explore! There is a very interesting working mill at the rear of the property with an amazing history which the original owner and the volunteers on site were more than happy to talk to us about and the fresh bread from the bakery is delicious. There is also a butchers, green grocers and a local co-op in the village which catered for all our needs and the food in the pub was delicious though booking is recommended as it is very busy! There is also a fish & chip shop if you prefer to grab a takeaway.
