A golf club can also be found within a 15-minute walk of the hotel, and Edinburgh city centre can be reached in less than an hour by car. From the moment we got there, we were made to feel very welcome. Very positive energy and environment. Lovely place to stop even for just a night. Had some lovely conversations with the owners, was lovely to get to know their story a little as well:)

The Loch Ness Inn is located in the village of Lewiston, near the Great Glen Way. It offers rooms with free WiFi and free parking. The property is 0.7 miles from Drumnadrochit and 1.5 miles from Urquhart Castle. We stayed one night but we enjoyed it. The location es great, you can go for a walk around the forest. The restaurant is very good

The Hotel Ceilidh-Donia is in a quiet residential area, just off Dalkeith Road, a major route into Edinburgh. Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station, Edinburgh Castle and the shops of Princes Street are within a 15-minute bus ride. This hotel is a true find. It had a lovely, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The owners could not have been more helpful.

The room was beautiful and very comfortable with high-end linens and all the comforts one would require. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was beyond our expectations. We sat and had a drink in the bar and enjoyed our conversations with the bartender as well.

A splendid little place by the water with a great view, hostess was absolutely lovely and made us feel like home right off the bat, room had everything you'd expect, nice dinner choices (made to order), breakfast was delicious (partly buffet, partly made to order).

It’s hard to describe why you leave some places feeling happy and warm at heart, (and not really wanting to leave at all) but I’ll give it a go. The Osprey is a one of a kind hotel in the heart of Scotland. We booked it on a whim on our way back to Edinburgh after a week in the Highlands, it had the perfect location since we didn’t want to drive for too long, great reviews and a room available for three. Already at check-in you feel that it’s something out of the ordinairy. The owners Des and Sinead are warm and kind people with a great sense of humour, happy to help with restaurant suggestions or things to do in the area (or a birthday song, if you’re lucky!). The hotel itself is beautiful inside out, from the floral wallpaper and wooden floor to the picturesque stone facade partly covered in plants, nothing is left to chance. There’s no fuss or haste at The Osprey and we left feeling relaxed, well rested and wanting to come back! If the above isn’t convincing enough, in addition: The room was the nicest we had during our week in Scotland, super comfortable beds and bedding, a nice view over the park outside and very tasteful interior. The breakfast had a broad range of tasty and filling choices. The town of Kingussie itself was very charming and well worth a visit. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough.

St Columba Hotel has a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Iona. This 3-star hotel offers a concierge service and free shuttle service. The property is non-smoking and is set less than 1 km from Iona Abbey. The Hotel is owned and run by people from the Island Community. That's a wonderful thing because it means that the hotel is connected to the place in which it is situated and Iona is a very special place. The Staff are sound, the food was great and the location is wonderful. The three of us travelled by bicycle from Oban. We will be back for sure. Go raibh maith agaibh go léir.

Large, comfy room with exceptionally clean bathroom. Little fridge was great. All the little touches from water and snacks in the room to a FAN!! The fan was something I have never seen in our travels and greatly appreciate since I never sleep without one at home! Great stay!

At the guest house, rooms are fitted with a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. It’s well located less than a minute from the main street and loch. The room was an excellent size, breakfast and off road parking were great. Jim & Ele made us fresh coffee for our flasks.
