Dingle
Offering sea views, Old Irish farmhouse is an accommodation set in Dingle, 15 km from Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium and less than 1 km from Slea Head. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the farm stay free of charge. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Glad we booked an extra night. It gave us time to explore some of the peninsula, so we were there two nights. Met some nice people from Europe who were visiting Ireland too. The kitchen was well stocked and available to use after breakfast hours if needed. No TV whatsoever but we were ok with that and enjoyed the break. It wasn't far to Dingle, the Blasket Heritage/informational center, Dunsmore Head and Inch Beach. Live music was fun in town but we were told the town closed up on Sunday night so were glad we didn't make the drive into town that night. There was good music at the Dingle Pub on a Monday night and the sunrises were fabulous from our second floor room. We would definitely recommend this place!
Ballyvaughan
Situated in Newtown, 5 minutes’ drive from Ballyvaughan and Galway Bay, The Waters Country House boasts over 40 acres of farmland at the foot of the Burren Hills. Ailwee Cave, also featuring an underground river and a waterfall, is only 3km from the property. This characterful property was full of quirks and personality. We really loved having access to common spaces (where we played some boardgames) and the owners kindly let some of our party stay late while the rest of us went horseback riding. They were able to accommodate my gluten allergy for breakfast, and my family members said the full Irish was amazing.
Buncrana
Just 3 minutes' walk from the beach in Buncrana, The Harbour Inn sits on a hillside overlooking the sandy beaches of Lough Swilly. The Harbour offers spacious bedrooms with private bathrooms, breakfasts freshly cooked on request, and free parking. Breakfast was delicious, if you are not a big breakfast person steer clear of the “Irish breakfast” it is a very large portion.
Bunratty
4 miles from Shannon Airport, Bunratty Manor is a small family-run hotel, just a 5-minute walk from Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. The Manor Restaurant serves local game and seafood.
En suite, spacious rooms offer a home-from-home style atmosphere and have orthopaedic beds. There are tea/coffee making facilities and free Wi-Fi in all rooms. Free parking is also available.
Food was amazing, staff were lovely and the hotel was very cosy.
They make their own bread every day which is to die for!
Clifden
Situated in the picturesque town of Clifden, the hotel is fast becoming the premier location for activity holidays with its unique and diverse landscape, ideal for walking, cycling, and hiking.
Connemara's longest established hotel, Foyles has been owned and managed by the Foyle family for nearly a century. The impressive building, which has played host to many famous personalities over the years, has recently been redesigned to the highest modern standards, yet retains much of its old charm and atmosphere.
Great breakfast and large room.
Leenaun
On the shores of Killary Harbour lies Ireland's oldest coaching inn. Dating from 1796, you'll find traditional home cooking, antique furniture and the most spectacular views in Ireland.
The location of Leenane Hotel makes it an excellent base for exploring Connemara. The facilities include a bar, a spacious restaurant and a private resident’s lounge.
The hotel was beautiful in an awesome location. The room was spotless, and breakfast was phenomenal. I was shocked that a breakfast this wonderful was included with the stay! We also had dinner in the restaurant and the mussels were the best I’ve ever had.

I loved the location, overlooking the promenade and within a comfortable walk to the city centre but away from all the hustle and bustle and night time economy noise. Being able to step outside first thing in the morning and have a beach walk was awesome. Breakfast was excellent and kept me well fuelled for the day’s adventures ahead. The hosts were friendly (as was the dog!). My room was comfortable and mostly quiet. Other guests were respectful of the property also.
Beautiful lounge, really well equipped kitchen. Hostel is in excellent location close to the city centre, nice restaurant and bus station. Clean and new, really nice. Good price! I am happy I stayed here.
Comfortable rooms at a very good price. Reception staff were great and really helpful with anything we asked for. Great location as well, right by the entrance to University College Cork. There are lots of buses from the city centre to the guest house as well.
