Taito, Tokyo
Well situated in the centre of Tokyo, Asakusa Tobu Hotel offers air-conditioned rooms, a restaurant and free WiFi. This 3-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. Private parking is available on site.
The rooms in the hotel are fitted with a kettle. The units in Asakusa Tobu Hotel are equipped with a flat-screen TV and free toiletries.
Excellent location close to 3 stations (Tokyo metro, Toei & JR, all named Asakusa). The hotel sells the Japan Metro/Toei 72 hour pass (not valid on JR), which is a great deal for getting around. The metro station is just opposite, with a department store above. The basement selling food is great for buying breakfast (the hotel breakfast ends at 10+,am as their lunch service starts from 11.30am) or dinner (20-30% off most cooked food e.g. yakitori, croquette, bento etc. in the food hall after 6 or 7pm, as the mall closes at 8pm. The famous Ichiran Ramenses just next door.
Perfect base for visiting Asakusa and the rest of Tokyo (Shinjuku is about 40 minutes away by metro; Akihabara & Ginza about 20 minutes away.)
Beds are wider than normal and can comfortably fit an adult & a child (can share bed for free, up to 12 years old).
Be aware though that the Twin B room only has standing space between the bed and all 3 walls/window.
2 cushioned chairs & a small table are provided but it's often covered by our stuff as there's storage, except for under the bed.
There is a small cupboard where the cups are kept, and a shallow drawer under the TV.
No wardrobe for clothes but there are about 8 hangers (of which 2 for pants) on 2 clothes knob in the entrance, which is quite narrow.
It's great that the toilet is separate from the bathroom (Japanese deep bathtub + shower so you can DIY an onsen experience), and the sink is outside.
Shower pressure / jet is strong & powerful and makes for good massage after a day of sightseeing.
Staff are all very helpful and I never had to wait long for check-in, check-out, to enquire, to request more towels or borrow umbrella etc. Laundrette is 500¥ for 3kg wash & dry.
Our room had a view of the Sumida River & Asahi building.
I'm definitely recommending this hotel!
(if your credit card has a good rate, choose to settle in JPY instead of your home currency proposed by the payment terminal)

Incredible value for money. Great location between the beach and the main busy shopping street. We were a little nervous about this accommodation because it's been a while since we stayed in a hostel but it feels more like a budget hotel. Exceeded our expectations.
Great budget hotel in a convenient, safe location with a convenience store below. Appreciated being able to leave my luggage in the lobby before checking in. The room was perfectly functional and clean - I had expected it to be really cramped based on other reviews but, though small, it was fine for me as a solo traveller with minimal luggage. The hotel also has a smoking room next to reception and offers amenities such as robes and toothbrushes.
This is a budget hotel so you get what you pay for, HOWEVER, for a budget hotel I found it very good. The rooms and bathroom are small but that's the norm in Japan, so it didn't bother us. They provided toiletries and free coffee in the morning, the rooms were quiet, the internet worked fine. The location is good, just a short 10 min walk to the train station and 5 min walk to the livelies st.
This is a simple hotel in a great area. Rooms are small but have everything you need. This budget hotel does not have anywhere where you can sit and relax with friends (or even read a book), but there are plenty of locations nearby where you can do these things
The staff is very friendly. The rooms are spacious (by Japanese budget hotel standards). The free coffee machine was useful! The location is great. It's right in the Tsukiji Outer Market. Excellent location for checking out the market early morning.
I booked one day before, during the peak Sakura season. It is a peak rate but that’s what you get during Sakura peak season. The location is great! The room is standard Japanese budget hotel room size. Perfect if you are traveling alone, and when visiting Japan, you are always out of the room, so that’s fine. Cleanliness wise, it is good enough for me. Furnitures are dated but it’s clean. Just that the room lacks drinking water. But can be purchased easily from the family mart below the hotel.
The location is near several train stations. The staffs can speak English and their services are decent. You can consider this budget hotel if you want to stay around Ginza and use most of time outside the hotel.
Location. The sauna room was great and more spacious than some other budget hotels in Tokyo
This is a budget hotel and in some areas it shows. The facilities are somewhat cheaply appointed but the stay is comfortable and the rooms have everything you need. The location is good, but be prepared for a few minutes walk to any of the nearest train stations. Good access to Ginza, Yurakuchou, Tsukiji and Marunouchi districts. Friendly staff.
The location of the hostel is amazing, it allows you to be only a few minutes from the station and to be close to the city center as well as the beach. We were able to store our luggage there before and after check-in and -out which is a big plus. Generally, the room was very good and there is nothing particular to complain about it corresponds very well to the descriptions and photos. The room is not amazing either but it very much lives up to the standards at which it is advertised. So good price / quality ratio.
