Beppu Hatto Onyado Nono Beppu is set in Beppu, 20 km from Crasus Dome Oita and 12 km from Oita Station. Featuring a restaurant, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Private parking is available on site. Comfortable but with very tiny rooms. Unusual experience {which we liked} for a big hotel is that you must not wear shoes at any place in the hotel. All floors are carpeted with tatami mats, which are beautiful, but since this hotel caters a lot to tour groups, the front doors become jammed when a bus comes in and people must remove their shoes. Tour groups also bottleneck at the elevators and restaurant. Breakfasts looked great, but we wouldn't go when tours were lined up. Excellent coffee always available. Outdoor onsen was tiny (maybe 3 meters by 3 meters). Indoor onsen was large enough, but not hot enough. Great location with lots of restaurants nearby. Fantastic English-speaking staff. Dormy's HR Dept know their stuff. We'd stay again, despite the small rooms and small onsen. Visit the very old downtown onsen, Takegawara, , a must, and the seafront walk, Good bakery (Mermaid) at the train station. Liveely downtown area.

Lovely place about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. We were there on 2 cold days in March but our room was warm with a heater and electric blankets. Very comfortable beds and an onsen in the room. We had a beautiful view out our window and in nice weather it would be lovely to sit outside but not on this visit. You eat downstairs in a pleasant dining room. The 2 dinners were fabulous and well prepared but we couldn't eat much of the breakfast (it was all Japanese), other guests loved it. But on the second day the cooks made us a delicious breakfast that kept us going all day. The owner is very helpful, he cares a lot about his guests, he's still working on the place and it will be really nice when it's done.

A definite top 5 for me. We got the room with a private one and it was simply so amazing to have that within seconds of your room. Also it felt like the water in the private in room onsens had much more minerals than the large one but the large one is well worth a stay too as it feels so free to be the only one there and gazing upon the mountains as you bathe.

The staff members were very gracious, the meals were amazing, and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. We loved our private onsen. We can't rave enough about Ryokan Fukinoya, definitely a highlight of our trip!

The property is non-smoking and is set 4.1 km from Kinrinko Lake. Huge room with separate areas for washing (with twin sinks!), living-room (wooden flooring) and sleeping quarters (tatami flooring). Balcony and onsen pool has a nice forest view. In-room onsen pool is large enough for 2 persons as well. Its nice to wake up to bird-calls than traffic-noise. The host was extremely inviting and friendly despite speaking little English. The room was already warmed up, futons laid out and the in-room onsen water also likewise warm upon our arrival. Very impressive and unexpected service. The area is not inside Yufuin town center but close enough via a short drive by car. Hence you get nature surroundings without the hustle and bustle but close enough to Yufuin for easy daytrip of shopping / sightseeing. The room has a small fridge, microwave, air purifier, reverse-cycle air conditioning and a kerosene heater. Alot of amenities provided. Provided WiFi was also stable and fast. Highly recommended accommodation for couples given its wonderful service, friendly attentive host, natural surroundings and close enough to town center for daytime sightseeing.

SEKIYA RESORT Terrace Midoubaru is located a 15-minute drive from JR Beppu Station and boasts guestrooms with a semi open-air bath. Guests can soak in the hot spring bath. Private parking is available for an additional fee. The view was amazing, the room is very bright and large. Staff was friendly and we have no complaints!

The private onsen in the room was great. Calm and peaceful. We would love to recommend to stay here.

River view was also nice. - The breakfast and dinner were delicious. We can see that they made a lot of effort in detail. - The hotel offers 6 onsen baths (4 inside the hotel; 2 outside which you need to walk down the stairs). - Staff were super friendly.
