The staff is super friendly and the environment is beautiful: bungalows, trees, lawn, and swimming pool. The fitness center and the restaurant are my favorite. The fitness center is spacious and has nearly all the equipments a professional gym offers. The restaurant offers both delicious Philippine and international cuisines at reasonable price. A review cannot be complete without mentioning the sea explorers, a PADI five star diving center located inside the resort. Many thanks to dive master Damron for his patient and professional instructions. Attending the scuba diving course at sea explorers is an unforgotten experience for me.

Almost 30 years visiting the Philippines from New York, I’ve stayed at every type hotel/resort. A Villas is not a cookie cutter western style commercial hotel. It’s a small local hotel with a beautiful pool overlooking the Sea. At waterfront on both sides is a fishing village with wonderful families who I interacted with everyday, was invited to their parties, and invited to go fishing with them. All of this is the flavor of the Philippines. I don’t fly 9,000 miles to stay in a western type resort. 22 days at A Villas is a treat, understanding the culture. Many poor people, but I’ve never met more humble or happier people anywhere in the world. I stayed in the cottage (only 1) at waters edge, a/c, modern, clean, and I open my door and interacted with the fishing village folks everyday, who treated me like one of their own. It’s not a 3,4,5 Star Hilton, but it’s a wonderful experience. I actually became self appointed pool skimmer/cleaner everyday. Staff set the skimmer out for me daily. Staff got me a new scooter that I rented for $10.- day, and will be continuing this reveal for another week. I married my wife in the Philippines 29 years ago, she had to return to USA earlier than me. I’m very familiar with the Philippines. This offers the flavor of a local Philippine resort. I’ll be back. There will be a little culture shock for some, for sure, but there’s so much to be gained from this local hotel. Vincent/New York

Thalatta Resort is approximately 24 km from Dumaguete on Negros Island. The property is located close to Malatapay Market and Apo Island Pier Breakfast was very good, many choices. The fresh sliced Pineapple was the best I ever had in the Philippines. It was export quality. There’s a new selection of wonderful French wines.

This beachfront hotel comes with an outdoor pool, massage treatments and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Billiards and darts are also available. Everything perfect. Possibly the best hotel I have been to so far in the Philippines

What I like most in this hotel are the staff. From the security guard who greeted us in the entrance door and the front desk are all friendly. Checking in went smooth. The room is in decent size, it's clean, the bed are well made and comfortable and the bathroom are full of amenities. We did a late service request and the staff came quick. The breakfast buffet was pretty decent, not much to choose from but good enough as complimentary for the price that we paid. I like the location which is in the heart of downtown walking distsnce to restaurants and shops.

Situated along the coastline, Kav's Beach Resort features an outdoor pool, fitness centre, lush green gardens and free WiFi access in the public areas. It is conveniently located within a 5-minute walk from St. Peter Chapel and a 15-minute walk from Zamboangita Market. Located the river that flows into ocean, the beach is very wide. Saw pieces of coral and shells. The ocean was very clear. The greatest improvement was the new Star Link WiFi. It was the best internet connection I have had since I’ve been visiting the resorts in Negros Oriental. Thanks to the owners for installing Star Link. Our family always feel welcome, we have many wonderful memories. Our daughter learned how to swim at Kav’s.

Featuring a restaurant, this 3-star resort has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. The accommodation provides room service, a concierge service and organising tours for guests. It was close enough to Dauin Beach that it was walkable, but far enough that there was a lot of quiet if you wanted it. All the food we tried at the resort was good! The staff were also friendly and helpful.
