The breakfast was great. Stakaberg is in the countryside, which we prefer during summertime. We loved the beautiful outdoor areas for breakfast.

Apelvikstrand Strandhus offers modern, self-catering holiday homes next to Apelvik Beach, 3 km south of central Varberg. Each accommodation has a furnished patio, kitchenette and flat-screen TV. There was really nothing not to like. I did experience a little difficult checking in as it was late and dark, and signage leaves a little to be desired. I have to take partial blame though, as if I had read my emails properly I would have realised there was an app to download that helped matters. The cottages are unpretentious but very nice, the location is unbeatable if scenery is your preference, and I had the good fortune to visit in the off-season making my stay great value. I fully expect the prices to be dramatically different in the high season though.

Abrité dans un bâtiment du XVIIe siècle, l'Hotell Gästis se trouve à Varberg, à 400 mètres de la gare centrale. İnteresting design in the rooms and other parts of the hotel. Spa was an added bonus, we enjoyed it for a while.

Stunningly located on the edge of the forest, Tylebäck Hotell & Konferens is a modern hotel just 550 metres from Sweden´s most famous beach and 8 km from the centre of Halmstad. Great breakfast and close to the beach. Full size, huge gym.

Housed in a building from the 1930s, this central hotel lies next to River Ätran in the coastal town of Falkenberg. It offers free WiFi and rooms with flat-screen TVs. Great location. Room was amazing and staff were exceptional. Breakfast was varied with great choices. Very comfortable and saunas were great, just what we needed after a long day cycling.
