It's very much new and boutique, having just 12 rooms in a very quiet location surrounded by trees and maybe 2km from the beach. The pool is small, but good for cooling off. Breakfast was excellent. There are plenty of places to eat on the beach and some shops on the way there. The resort has about ten bikes you can borrow, or walk down and get a taxi back. (There's a desk there for that.) Good for couples.

At the very edge of the forest, far from the crowd and vehicles, there is this gem owned by a wonderful Thai family. Everything here works flawlessly and wonderfully. The garden that surrounds the resort is wonderful and carefully maintained. Each plant is special and the owner (who maintains the garden) is here to answer any question related to it. The bungalows are of decent size and very clean. The breakfast is phenomenal and varied. There are also two wonderful dogs, Coffee and Lata, who guard this building from intruders of all sizes :))) Wonderful experience in this resort and I can't wait to come back again.

The hotel is in an excellent condition, everything was super clean and beautifully minimalistic decorating, we loved everything! The staff- super nice and attentive, the pool was great and refreshing! The bed is so comfortable we both had a very good sleep… It’s just a few meters from the main road so you can enjoy the quiet and the green views but still be very close to everything you need. Since it’s low season, breakfast was made by request, basic but definitely all we needed! The place is just beautiful and we are coming back next month!

Located beside a large lake with dawn views to the Highlands, the beach is an easy 20-minute walk down a sandtrack. If you are lucky, you will meet a mother and two baby elephants KHUK KHAK beach is miles long and spotless - considered the best of Khao Lak. There are excellent restaurants close by - the famous Pam's which seemed to be always fully booked, Phen which never was and always had a welcome smile, and my favourite Wan, a local streetwise restaurant with fabulous bbq meats Even closer by is a magnificent Buddhist religious site Wat - visit by day and night. 2 local supermarkets are nearby and a money changer too, all close to the Marriott development LakeView is not a fancy hotel with any pool or bar, but it is really special and one of my favourite spots anywhere. Just relaxing and peaceful. The owner, builder Karl, is always on hand to chat and suggest options or help with your plans. Great fun.
