Place to stay 😍 An insider tip for Rarotonga, great villas right on the beach, lovingly furnished and very well maintained and tidy. The host Krystina is very warm and accommodating, one of the best hosts we have ever had. The villas have everything you need for self-catering/service and, very well equipped, there is a small supermarket within walking distance (2 minutes) and great cafes/lunch/dinner options about 5 minutes away. The night market takes place several times a week, which is outside the door 1min away. We got the tip from our host to get food there but eat and enjoy on the balcony with a sea view. There is also a canoe for each villa and bicycles are also available for free use. A transfer can also be arranged if required (25NZD p.p), we had a very nice driver. All in all, we had a great and wonderful stay and can fully recommend it, we will definitely come back. Thanks to Krystina & Team

Stunning view from this oceanfront and upscale villa. The deck is very large with glass partitions so the view is absolutely unobstructed! The facilities are spacious and very modern and new. The beds are super comfortable with lovely linens and pillows. The bathrooms are amazing with a shower to die for. Plenty of hot water and towels. The kitchen had every amenity possible even an espresso machine with pods provided. All the appliances are in perfect condition and the fridge was even stocked with a nice cold bottle of water and champagne!! Wow! Thanks! The living room furniture was nice and comfy. There is an excellent washer and outside clothes line for drying. We didn't need to use the AC because of the light breeze and weather we experienced but the AC is new and in each bedroom. We hope to stay here again!

Where to start?! Right from the very first communication with Liana we felt like this was going to be an exceptional holiday and wow, it sure was!! Liana was simply outstanding in everything she did for us before we arrived and during our stay. She arranged to have our bags delivered to the villa and met us when we arrived there. We got a personal tour of the villa and everything was explained so clearly to us. The cleaning staff were amazing and the property was in superb condition. The pool was just gorgeous and the perfect size to swim in, laze in and play in. The location was brilliant. It literally was less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, the night market, the bus (you really will enjoy taking a ride at least once around the island!), scooter/car hire companies, a 24hr mini supermarket, and so many wonderful food outlets to choose from. We would definitely stay there again and it's a reason to want to go back.

We loved our stay at JJ'sRetreat! Jason & Jaime are wonderful hosts. They were so friendly and easy going and shared a lot of knowledge about the island. They have a wonderful slice of paradise in Rarotonga at JJ's Retreat. The self-contained villa had everything we needed for our 10 day stay. It was very clean and tidy, the kitchen was well equipped with cooking equipment and basic cooking ingredients such as oil, salt and pepper, and a great BBQ so we could cook our own meals. Tea/coffee/milk for the first day was provided, as was basic toiletries, but we brought most of what we needed with us from NZ or bought from the local supermarket/take away, Wigmore's, which is a short easy 10 min cycle down the road. Water in the villa is filtered for drinking. The gardens around the property are beautiful and well kept, along with the swimming pool which we enjoyed everyday! We were so lucky to be the only couple there so we had the whole place to ourselves. The property is set back from the main ring road (5 min walk) so it is very quiet and peaceful. The Raro bus will pick you up/drop you off at the main road and so it is very easy to get around without a car. JJ's is located close by to the best snorkelling on the island - Fruits of Raro to the east and Aroa to the west. The bikes provided allowed us to cycle to Aroa beach to enjoy snorkelling at our own pace. We also cycled to Wigmore's Waterfall for a swim and picnic. After adventuring every day it was wonderful to come back to our villa and enjoy our evening on the deck. The use of the washing machine was great too, and there was a phone to call local numbers to make reservations. The bed was so comfortable and the villa was kept cool by its design and the wonderful big fan above our bed! They were happy to arrange a late check out for our late flight. Jason & Jaime have thought of all the little details that make a holiday extra special.

    We loved our stay at Sokala Villas. Laurence and his crew made our time with them so nice. Villa was gorgeous. Location excellent, just a little away from the busier section of Muri Beach. Laurence helped to find the tours we wanted and even gave us a late checkout. If we come back to Rarotonga we will be staying at Sokala again

    Absolutely loved our stay at Sokala Villa. Upon arrival all the way to check out the team were so lovely and accommodating to our needs. Everything was perfect from the location, our villa and friendly little chicks that visit you. Really felt like a home away from home and we couldn’t have been more happier.     The view was awesome, the location being Muri made it easy to walk to other places close by, the pool, the friendly cats, the villa had all of the things we needed and was well appointed. The owners were great to communicate with. We really appreciated the UV filtered water being safe drinking water as well.

    Location is fantastic, right on the lagoon. The villa is huge for 2 people, great deck on villa 5, where we were. Thoughtful provisions at the start of our stay, fruit, cereal, wine! Lovely and quiet yet just a short stroll to restaurants, bakery and convenience store. We loved every moment. Thank you Lawrence.

    We rented 2 villas, we all enjoyed our stay. Super easy communication with Scott and Rose. Nice to arrive and have a little starter pack in the fridge. Pool was awesome the kids were in it everyday. Great to have bikes, kayaks etc. Definitely will go here again.

    Heavenly location and villas were picture perfect during our stay. The hosts ensured we felt welcome even as our flight arrived at 1am. They kindly provided all the information and we enjoyed an unforgettable experience here, would highly recommend! And hope to return in future :)
