We really felt at home at Sonia's place. She gave us a great welcome and tour. You can tell she sees her property and her service as a reflection of herself. The house was warm and comfortable when we arrived, which is much appreciated. The house and property had plenty of space, a place for everyone in our family of seven. Everything was quite clean and neat. The kitchen was very well outfitted. Even though it was cool and wet for much of our time, we were still able to enjoy the backyard and barbecue. The outdoor space would be a great place in the warmer months. The location is good, close to a bus stop but just far enough away from the center of town to be quite peaceful. A good bakery and other shops (including a chocolatier) are within a reasonable walk; supermarkets are a little further than I like but still very walkable. There is a walled public greenspace with a playground and soccer goals just east of the property. And it's an easy hike up to the top of the cliff overlooking the town, even with a stroller; it makes for a good afternoon walk for the whole family. Ornans is a pretty town; the way it is situated along the river just makes you want to stop on the footbridge and take it all in as the water sweeps past below. From the layout, decor and location to the amenities and service, this house just feels good. Don't hesitate. Highly recommended.

The property is located in a small farm hamlet, the area is rural and lovely, and the views amazing. The nearest bakery is a 10 min drive, and the nearest town / restaurants / supermarkets are in Pontarlier which is about 15-20 mins drive. The lakes, rivers, walking and cycling in the area are much recommended, and we particularly enjoyed swimming in the river Doub, and hanging out by Lac de Saint Point. Metabief (30 mins) has great mountain biking, and family adventures such as high ropes - well recommended. Overall we loved the Gite, and the area and had a great time.

Loved staying here - fantastic location overlooking the river, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The table football was a brilliant bonus! Large garage space for our bikes and campervan. Communication with the host was easy.

Ornans is a beautiful town. We stayed 7 nights and visited the region which is gorgeous. The house is very near downtown and has all you need to spend a wonderful time, including reading by the edge of the river. Sonia is a very warm and attentive host. She gave us a lot of good advice for the stay. Do not hesitate to stay here for a visit to Franche-Comté!

Plenty of space, we stayed with five adults. The kitchen is well equipped. The terrace is amazing for having dinner outside, perfect view over the valley! Three of the bedrooms have their own bathroom, the forth a separate toilet. Easy and safe parking. Only short walking distance to the city center, the river, restaurants or the amazing French bakery there.
