Gary and Jennifer are the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Backside Lodge is equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. Lovely warm welcome on arrival. Homemade scones, biscuits, sweets, bottle water, bottle of beer and a bottle of wine waiting in the lodge for use. A lovely touch to a perfect stay. The bed was so comfortable and the lide was extremely clean. Can't wait to go back.

I liked everything about Hocus Pocus. It was quiet and comfortable and a good size for a family of 4. Loved the location and offered really good informatiom about what to do during our stay with discounts for some places around us. Check in was easy. We loved our stay here, wish we could have stayed longer.

We were looking for accommodation for 4 adults that was within walking distance of York city. The Stone’s throw was perfect. The house was comfortable and homely. Additionally there are nice bars, pubs and eateries within a 2 minute walk. Hats off to the host, he couldn’t have been more accommodating with excellent communication. Thank you.

I would love to say this place is horrid so as to allow us to be selfish but I can’t. It is truly a place to cherish. Both Charlotte and Josh are so welcoming, the cottage is immaculate, the setting bliss, the tranquility astounding. As you turn into the drive you are met by nature, then as you continue you see the farm in all its majesty.
