Maduranga and his wife were exceptional hosts. They were both very warm, kind and friendly. I got caught in heavy rainfall and Maduranga offered to bring me an umbrella. His wife also made a home remedy for me to treat some insect bites that I had. The breakfast was abundant and varied and saw me through to way past lunchtime. The shower was excellent with hot water and the cleanliness of the room impeccable. A few days after my stay, he also checked in to see where I was and if I was ok. I highly recommend this homestay.

One of the best appartment I've had We booked this place for a week, but extended it for another 4 days because it was too good. The room is clean, and the view from the window is just magical. The breakfasts were exactly at the time we requested. They were big, balanced and delicious. Our tastes were taken into account in the breakfasts. We work from home, so good Internet is important to us. Wifi has not let us down during our stay here, but in the evenings it works much worse than in the morning and afternoon. The landlady helped us find a laundry, food delivery to the house. She offered to visit the waterfall together and we went with her to it. She also helped us get to Yala National Park. Thanks for everything! I hope we'll see you again!

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and always went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. everyone was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The accommodation itself was top-notch—clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. Every detail, from the bedding to the amenities, reflected a commitment to quality and comfort. It felt more like a home away from home than just a hotel rooms.definitely we will back.

Beatiful and peaceful place in the nature. You can hear many kinds of birds and see monkeys.. Sithu and Kalpana are 2 sisters, they are so kind and helpful. They organised tuk tuk for us(good price). Communication via WhatsApp was great. We had very tasty breakfast and dinner there. The room was clean and comfy. Ella town is nearby(you can go for a walk or use tuk tuk). It's really nice place and nice family. Thank you for everything and we hope to see you again.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Nature Lodge Bandarawela! The place exceeded our expectations in every way. It’s a perfect home away from home with everything thoughtfully provided. The lodge comes with a fully equipped kitchen—complete with kitchenware, spices, and all the essentials, making it easy and convenient to prepare meals. There’s a cozy living area with a TV, fridge, and a comfortable sofa bed, ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. The bedroom is spacious, featuring a double bed and a bunk bed, perfect for couples, families or groups. The bathroom has hot water, and the entire property is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. A special thanks to Mr. Lal, who made our stay extra special. Every morning, he served a delicious breakfast right on time, and was always kind, helpful, and ready to assist with anything we needed. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and we truly appreciated the peace of mind provided by the CCTV cameras around the property—it's very secure, so there’s no need to worry. Overall, this place is absolutely worth the money. It’s a peaceful, clean, and welcoming environment. We highly recommend Nature Lodge to anyone visiting Bandarawela!

They did breakfast every morning which was absolutely delicious - typically a savoury Sri Lankan dish, pancakes, and also some fruit. We also booked a Sri Lankan supper for a couple of nights - this was also delicious. The location beside the waterfall was remote and beautiful - we enjoyed spending time relaxing here as well as seeing Ella. The family were incredibly kind and welcoming. Mandula (sorry if we spelt it wrong!) took us up to Ella rock early one morning, and also took us to the waterfall and other places. The kids were lovely and Priyanka made us feel at home. The house is remote but their friend Shaashika was happy to drive us in his tuk tuk whenever we needed, and the family also organised scooter rental for us for one day so we could travel outside Ella. They also sorted laundry for us. In case helpful, this is the link where you turn off the main road to drive towards their place: https://maps.app.goo.gl/nNb5LbDswfFTUYn38?g_st=iw - a large taxi will not be able to go far, so it is best to text them and they will send their friend to collect you from here or Ella :)

The location, although slightly further from Ella than others, was excellent. You are located in a beautiful landscape surrounded by the sounds of nature. This is perfect for travellers who have the time to enjoy Ella and want to experience Sri Lankan hospitality at its finest, not just the main streets and bars. The owner and his family were very kind, attentive and just very good people. To find the rooms is a bit difficult so the owner met us and bought us through a very scenic walk, where locals were greeting us along the way. The bed is very comfortable and throughout the night you are comforted by the sounds of nature, we slept very well! Perfect stay for backpackers & Travellers, an excellent experience.

This is our second visit to this recently opened cottage. It was easy to locate using Google Maps and has a secure, free parking area. It is a lovely place to relax and stay. Although we traveled as a couple, there were two comfortable large beds that could also accommodate a family. You can order delicious food from the cottage owner, who prepares it for you. The place is impeccably clean, giving you a sense of being at home. The owner is very kind and helpful, and the location offers beautiful scenery, with a view of the black bridge on the Kital Ella railway track.
