Villas in Viksdalen

Beautiful location, overlooking the lake and mountains. Well furnished, big kitchen and breakfast table. All the bedrooms had stunning views.

A beautiful house in a very quiet location. It seems that this part is overlooked by the crowds; it's so peaceful and quiet, even during the big summer holiday. We also loved the little motor boat to go fishing or just have a nice time on the lake. Lars gave us tips and was always available for questions. Supermarket was close by and in the evening and morning this is a self service shop; so it's possible you are in the supermarket completely alone! The views from the deck were amazing. Also the Gaularfjellet scenic route is highly recommended!

What an incredible place. It is very rustic. No power, no flush toilets (there is a composting toilet), but the location and view are incredible. There is a 10 min drive from the farm, and the host drove us in their 4x4. Then there is a 15 minute walk up the mountain through forest, across streams, and through some bog (bring water proof shoes). Once at the top you feel isolated, and alone- much like Norwegian shepards would have felt. There is drinkable fresh water, gas for cooking and a wood stove for heat.There are battery powered candles, plus it stayed light (like dusk) all night - it is at over 62 degrees north. All that you need is there except your own food and clothes. It was a fantastic adventure & I can't recommend it enough.
