We mainly explored the old town and chilled near the beautiful lake. We also went for a hike nearby.
The old town has really nice restaurants. Ideally it's better to reserve before going for the restaurants to have Fondue/Raclette.
It's easy to get around Annecy by hiring a bike or taking the public bus. However one should be careful about the timings if you want to visit nearby places from Annecy. The buses are not so frequent.

The place is the perfect combination of nature and culture.
The place is the perfect combination of nature and culture. Compact and yet full of little surprises, Annecy is a charming French city that should be in every traveller’s bucket list. Plenty of excellent dining options, the majestic Alps before you, the Lake and the river around which the place weaves its spell. Late March, early April werent as packed with tourists as summer, so the pace is less harried. Prices, too, both for food and accommodation are very affordable. Three restaurants we tried : Cozna, Saba and Le Bouillon, all Michellin recommended - provided excellent food and service.

Beautiful old city.
Beautiful old city.
Gorgeous views of a pristine, clear lake.
Old town area was lovely and the Sunday market seemed really authentic.
Have a trip on the boat to admire the substantial houses dotted along the shoreline, enjoy an ice cream and take lots of pics.
There is a good bus service if you want to go further afield. We visited Talloires Montmin on the other side of the lake by car but I noticed it is on a bus route too.

Maximum charm in a small footprint: the Old Town is pedestrian-only, small streets that wind around and across the river, farmers markets, cutesy shops, plenty of cheese-y dinners... the place is a picture-postcard for France.

Not too much to do in the rainy weather.
Not too much to do in the rainy weather. Drinks are very expensive.
Great market in the old town 3 times per week. Lots of quirky little side streets and beautiful buildings within the city. Great to wander around.
Can walk parts of the lake or hire a bike. It’s beautiful even on rainy days
From the incredibly accommodating hosts who went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable to the amazing location just steps from Lake Annecy and all that the charming old town area has to offer, we couldn’t have been happier choosing to stay at Studio74! Each item offered seemed to be hand picked to be eco friendly and support local businesses, and as a bonus, even the shampoos and conditioners were sulfate and paraben free!
The staff was very friendly and gave me directions and recommendations. Overall, everything was super clean and organized. It was my first hostel experience, but they made it easy for me. The breakfast is alright but the view you see and the people you meet while you eat it are lovely. The big hill it’s on is a pretty challenging hike, but it’s worth it for the views and helps you burn off all the cheese you eat in old town Annecy.
This is a totally renovated hotel that looks stunning. The staff are all wonderful people that will take care of you during your stay. It's in a great location with easy access to the lake and old town, but far away enough where you will not be bothered by the noise of those locations. There is a bar in the lobby to get wine, beer and/or mixed drinks and the prices are quite acceptable for a hotel bar.
This is a comfortable modernised hotel in an older building close to the centre of the Old Town part of Annecy, so easy stroll to shops and restaurants. Undergorund parking available by reservation for a fee (think it was 15 euro per night?). Good wifi. Clean comfy beds. Very good buffet breakfast with all you could want, although expensive at 21 euro pp.
1. The location- it’s in the heart of the old town in Annecy
2. The character and authenticity- its interior is modernised but you know you are in an old building
3. Space- the main bedroom and bathroom are spacious. The living area works well.
4. Booking and response from agent/owner.
5. Nearby parking- good value and easy
The apartment is bright and spacious.
The beds are very comfortable.
The kitchen is very well-equipped, the only thing missing is lids for pots and pans (we couldn't find any).
This was one of the few apartments in France that supply toilet paper and washing-up liquid.
Attractive modern hotel in an excellent location near the old town and the lake. Very friendly and helpful English speaking reception. Parking available on site. Air conditioning very welcome in the 38 degree heat, as was the mid-day checkout.
Location was fantastic for exploring the old town and the lake. The hotel was lovely, with friendly staff. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast (16€) was substantial, with a variety of savoury and sweet options.
Nice little hotel located in the proximity of the train station and at like five minute walk away from the old town and the tourist attractions in Annecy.
Clean room, comfortable and very nice and helpful staff.
Individualistically styled room and common areas. Beautifully presented. Great location for visiting Annecy old town.
Very comfortable bed (I actually had the best nights sleep I’ve had for ages).
The location of the hotel was perfect, close to the lake and the old town. The rooms were very stylish. The staff were helpful. The patisserie was great and very reasonable. The bar was nice too.
The location was perfect as it was within walking distance of the old town. The staff was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and things to do. The room and hotel was very clean.
We had a corner room overlooking a small canal. Windows on 2 sides. The staff was wonderful and anticipated our every need. The hotel was amidst the old town charm of Annecy.
Great location for visiting the old town of Annecy and the lake . Very helpful staff , particularly the dining staff . The rooms are a decent size and are very clean .
Convenient location for the old town tourist sights next to the river.
Excellent buffet breakfast.
Self-serve laundry located around the corner from the hotel.
Hotel was great, comfy bed, nice location close to the old town and right next to the lake. Staffs were accommodating helping with restaurant reservation etc.
