Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa, hotel in Bala

Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa is located on the hills of the Berwyn Mountains, overlooking Lake Efyrnwy. The rooms at Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa feature a flat-screen TV and a work desk.

Fabulous location with great views across the lake from the Tavern bar and restaurant. Very friendly welcome, we stayed in room 28, we decided not to pay extra for a lake view. The room was airy, spacious, clean with a comfortable bed and a well appointed good sized bathroom. The Tavern bar has one cask ale on, kept well and surprisingly only £4 a pint. The great choice on the dinner menu in the restaurant and excellent service. Same at breakfast time with an additional ‘breakfast tray’ with additional choice of continental or cooked breakfast. Pick off peak days and you can get a very good rate.

Bala is a very lively town at the weekend with lots of pubs on the high street. The locals are friendly. There are some small local businesses on the high street. The lake is beautiful and has lots of water sports.

Bala is incredibly beautiful, as you would expect in the heart of North Wales. There is a spectacular Lake with a delightful steam railway running alongside. Bala centre has lovely pubs and antique shops, as well as plenty of space to roam around.

Bala lake itself is obviously the main attraction and that was well visited when we were there but there was plenty of car parking to access along with excellent options for access to the lake from various car parks on both sides of the lake. You could even take a ride on the steam train and get off at an excellent bay in which to canoe, swim, paddle and enjoy a full family day at leisure.

The town has everything that you'd need & the surrounding countryside is beautiful with some easy walks & some for the more adventurous. Water sports, walking & cycling are the main activities on offer & if you're happy with those combined with easy-going restful evenings then you'll love Bala.

I stayed for one night during a three-day cycling tour. Beautiful country around. White Lion Royal Hotel is a good place to stay, especially if you need an early start, as it serves breakfast early. It also serves excellent pub food - though the kitchen closed early this day, so I missed out. There are several other places to eat along the High Street, including pizza places and an Indian restaurant.

We couldn’t have had a better stay. You all went above and beyond to cater for our needs. As a vegan, my expectations were exceeded by the amount of options on the tasty hotel menu- at a very reasonable price mind! it was a very pleasant surprise. you all made us feel at home, especially the man with the ponytail (we didn’t catch his name). The room was very pleasant and maintained to a high standard. Thankyou so much, We can’t wait to come back to visit Bala! :)

Bala is a very quiet town, in the middle of a beautiful area and sitting right next to a lake. There were plenty of wonderful local places to eat, and the pastry shop right around the corner was exceptional. The manager provided very easy and clear directions on where to park, and the house had everything that we needed. The beds were comfortable.

Quiet, cosy caravan. Old fashioned but that is not an issue at all. It is clean, warm (plenty of heat sources) and has excellent wifi. Kitchen is adequately kitted out too. Pub just outside the farm gates and Bala a short drive. Proportions are small, but if you expect something different, don't book a caravan:-)

Comfortable and well appointed apartment. Settled in immediately. One street back from the highly walkable Bala high street with its great pubs and eateries and great range of shops. First come first served parking outside the front door but a free and spacious overnight car park on the other side of the road.

Such a beautiful hotel. This is something special. We stayed in the Queen Victoria Room which was simply as wonderful as it is historic. The grounds are perfectly manicured and we loved watching the rabbits on the lawn. The food was very good and the staff was just incredible.

The hotel is in a good position, handy for local amenities such as they are. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The bar meals were well cooked, well presented and value. Unfortunately, breakfast was scrimped in both quantity and quality.
