Position is probably the best in Buxton. Good parking & pleasant around property.

The room and bathroom had clearly been recently refurbished and was excellent with double aspect windows. It just needed blackout blinds as the white Venetian blinds did not cut out the early morning sunlight. The location was excellent as we were there for a performance at the Opera House.
This fully modernised Georgian property, with its rosette award-winning restaurant, near the centre of Buxton, offers comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi and parking.

If you are looking for something very special whilst you explore Buxton and the surrounding Peak District, treat yourself to this Hotel- In our opinion it is a superb hotel. Remember to swim in the rooftop open air pool. Beautiful room and excellent breakfast.
The Westminster Hotel overlooks the picturesque Pavillion Gardens in central Buxton. It offers charming, family-run accommodation, and many rooms have views of the park and lake.

Our room was large and spotlessly clean. We had intentionally booked a room with lake view which was lovely and peaceful. No external noises whatsoever.
Location is ideal for exploring Buxton and surrounding areas and a 5 minute walk from the Opera House.
Dating from the 1580’s, Hawthorn Farm Guest House is set in a Grade II listed house, 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Buxton. It offers country-house style rooms and home-cooked food.

The place is beautiful and charming, and our room was quite cosy and clean. Paul really treated us very warmly, and that was the best part of our experience there: we felt welcomed and cared for.
The breakfast was delicious.

We visited Poole’s Cavern & Country Park, enjoyed the tour round the cavern then a walk up to Solomon’s Temple, great views from there. Then we had the rest of the day looking round Buxton, great architecture and history. We had an evening meal in The Old Hall Hotel.

Buxton is a lovely town with a beautiful theatre and the train station is central. There are plenty of shops, tea rooms, cafes, pubs and restaurants all within close proximity. There is a park and pavillion, which accommodates a gallery. Also, Buxton is a short drive from other tourist attractions ie Bakewell, Ashford in the water and Chatsworth.

Buxton has a lot of interesting places to visit and there is plenty to do in the day and at night. We stayed for two nights, but could have found plenty to do for a week. There are a lot choice of Restaurants and we found the ones we went to were very good.

The most interesting small city and worth a visit, relies on good weather and make use of the spa. Check the tourist places and consider the beautiful theatre and pavilion. I recommend the Old Court house Brasserie for dinner.

This was our 3rd trip to the lovely town of Buxton and we really enjoyed it again ( despite bad weather ! ). There are many amenities and a nice town centre with beautiful gardens and architecture. As Real Ale lovers, we found lots to keep us happy too !

I saw most of Buxton but with a car there is so much more to see and do in the area. Had a night at the opera; visited Chatsworth and Hardwick (which has amazing tapestries and history but is further away and would not recommend if only staying for a few days); Eyam and its museum; a guided walk around Buxton; Participated in Park Run 15 mins walk from Grendon B&B; Less busy and crowded than Bakewell although definitely would recommend a visit there; Gardens lovely to wander around; Countryside amazing and beautiful to walk in.
I have stayed in the Old Hall Hotel a number or times over the years, and had planned a quiet weekend in Buxton. Unfortunately there was a music festival in the park opposite which completely destroyed the calm atmosphere I was expecting. The staff were very understanding and the duty manager arranged for us to move for our second night to the The Crescent Hotel next door. This turned what would have been a disappointing weekend into something very special.
The hotel looks neat and very nice. The staff very polite and so helpful. The rooms are comfy and convient (except for one point I'll detail later). I didn't realise we would have a shared bathroom (but that's my mistake, it was clear from the website I just didn't pay attention), but it was not a bad experience, the bathroom was kept so clean.
Location is convenient just minutes away from Buxton centre and easy access from the road.
Good location within walking distance of the main town centre and restaurants in a nice quiet area. The hotel has been painstakingly and beautifully restored. Rooms were large, comfortable and again immaculate with lots of nice thoughtful touches- big fluffy towels complimentary slippers, water and fruit. Also terrific breakfasts. Will definitely be our goto place to stay when we go back to Buxton
This hotel is in the perfect location for us. The interior needs updating, and the food provision could be better, but the staff were charming and welcoming. On the other hand, I’d rather see it remain in poor decorative order than have it loose any of its essential historic character.
Great location in good walking distance to all Buxton sights and attractions. Close to two small supermarkets, too--one open 6 am--10 pm. Two big bedrooms, nicely furnished with comfortable beds. Kitchen had everything we needed. Dave was great to deal with. Would stay again!
The Hotel is located opposite the Pavilion gardens which are in the center of this lovely Spa Town. At the time of our visit, Buxton was holding its annual Festival, the Opera House and Arts Theatre where many of the events were held, is only a 5min walk from the hotel.
This was a great stay for our week in the Peak District. Staying in Buxton meant everything was just about 30 mins away. Having an apartment rather than a hotel stay was also much preferred. This was a great experience, thanks for providing such high quality!
We have stayed at the Westminster Hotel many times and we love it. It is in a beautiful location in Buxton, close to all amenities, and has wonderful views across the lake and Pavilion Gardens. The breakfast and service is exceptional and we would recommend.
The ambience and decor of the hotel was beautiful. Our room was lovely and comfortable. The bed/pillows also comfortable. It was nice to have a good variety of drinks in the room, as well as biscuits and bottled Buxton water. The bathroom was enormous!
This is place is excellent. Contact from the host was excellent and they could not be more helpful and kind. Room was lovely with everything you need. Bed was very comfortable. Nice to have a space to sit outside too
Great location to visit Buxton
Very friendly hosts and staff and breakfast was lovely. Hotel is well placed for access to all local amenities with only a 15 minute leafy walk up to Poole's cavern. Would recommend for anyone who is looking to stay centrally in Buxton.
Convenient location in downtown Buxton. Easy walk to restaurants and pubs. Close to Peak National Park attractions and hiking. Apartment was quite large which provided room for us to spread out and be comfortable. Very functional.
Wonderful view! Faces the car-free promenade along the park for easy strolling, walking to town, or bird viewing! Taxi transfer pickup and delivery easy via well-signed car park entrance from street behind hotel.
Exceptional value given that the room rate for 2 at about £100 per night inc breakfast and dinner. We got quite abuzz staying in a traditional large hotel that was so close to the centre of Buxton
Location excellent, didn't eat breakfast. Room and ensuite fine, staff friendly and helpful. Will book the same hotel whenever staying in Buxton in the future.
It was just across the road from the Opera House Buxton which was perfect. The garden is beautiful and the hotel is stunning. I would happily stay again.
