Far away from every thing. But fantastic to make a rest. Calm. Relaxing.
Located on the coast of Alentejo, this guest house is housed in a typical rural building from the 1940s. It features an outdoor pool and is a 4-minute drive from Praia da Zambujeira do Mar.

We loved everything about the accomdation was luxurious with a keen eye to detail in everytouch.
Breakfast was divine served beautifully served in a stunning setting.
The local taxi man was really helpful and friendly, super efficient.
We would highly recommend it, but for walkers, book a taxi from the town!

Spent just one night here while hiking but it was a lovely little town. It was off season (March) but there were still some great restaurants open - would highly recommend Odesos, some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. The surrounding area and coastal hikes are stunning!

Zambujeira do Mar is a great place for someone looking for peace and quiet. There are some tourists but the town is really small with limited accommodation capacity, so the number of people is not overwhelming. Also, a lot of Portuguese spend their holidays there. There’s a few restaurants to choose from, all quite good. Zambujeira do Mar is a small town, so everything is within a short walk distance. I think there’s no ATM there so it’s good to have some cash (if you like to have it with you).

Three beautiful beaches, but pretty crowded in August.
Three beautiful beaches, but pretty crowded in August. The village is an overnight stay on the Rota Vicentina, Portugal's long-distance coastal footpath, so there are good walking opportunities. On the two nights we were there we ate at Restaurante Rita. The food is good, but its main attraction is the great view of the stunning sunsets. Pretty well everything in the village is within walking distance so find a place to park your car and leave it there! Non-Portuguese should be aware that this is the Atlantic coast. The sea is cold!

In mid June (2019) the town was still very quiet, though most of the restaurants were open for business. When I went to the beach at 10 am i was literally the only person on the beach, despite it being a cloudless sky and warm sunshine. Most of the other visitors to the town seemed to be hikers walking the "Fishermen's Trail".
I only had time for one meal, but I am very happy with my choice. The restaurant called Sol Dourado, Rua da Palmeira, Lote 43. Try the Sopa de Cação (€13.50) - a large serving, probably enough for two people.

White Rose is a thoughtfully conceived and tastefully decorated inn, propose-built by its wonderfully welcoming owner Sandra. Blending beautifully with the surrounding landscape, many of the rooms and the rooftop pool offer views of the coast, including the Fisherman’s Trail as it approaches Zambujeira do Mar. Expansive private outdoor spaces adjoining some of the rooms offer a relaxing refuge too appreciate these lovely views. The stay is complemented by well appointed rooms and a tasty breakfast.
The space was amazing. It had a lake and pedalos if you wanted to use them. Two swimming pools (outdoor and indoor) and it had a big space for chilling and playing snooker. But the best part was the staff no doubt. They were so welcoming and nice, and even did us favours not included in our room price (washed our clothes, we had a late check out, breakfast options everyday, etc). We are very grateful and we loved our stay with them. Zambujeira do Mar is only a 6min drive from there.
It is isolated but still very near the incredible beaches of the Costa Alentejana and other facilities.
The staff was very nice, not intrusive at all and very respectful of our privacy (they even checked the best hour to clean the apartment). They brought fresh bread every morning, very much appreciated.
It was very clean and well decorated, and had everything we needed.
Very quiet and peaceful location in a beautiful region. It is perfect to spend some relaxing days.
Very neat and clean. Very personal approach (I got a little tour of the nearby cliffs and some roasted chestnuts, who knows what you'll get if you're polite with the owner?). Washing machine and tumbler dryer available which is super useful after a few days of hiking. Got a heater in the private room. PROPER BATH TUB (shared of course). Nice and clean shared kitchen with a variety of pots/pans. Also got a glass of local wine to try - very tasty.
Our stay at Hakuna Matata Hostel exceeded our expectations! Although it was a quick one night stop as we made our way through Portugal, we wished we had more time to explore the laid back town. The hostel is very well maintained and the room and shared bathroom was spacious and clean. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you!
Onestly, one of the best hostel I’ve ever been. Everything was perfect:nice rooms and common areas, bathrooms, facilities (washing machine plus DRYER!!! If you’re walking along the rota Vicentina that’s wowww). Super kind hosts (with great stories to tell also!) and perfect location. If you’re traveling nearby stop there!
Very nice, simple, clean hotel, with very friendly staff. I stayed in a family room, as that was the only one left, which was large - the "kids'" beds, tucked away behind a glass door. Kind of standard three-star hotel breakfast. Walking distance to bars and restaurants and the beach.
The room and facility were clean and tidy. The location is great, right off the Fishermen's Trail and close to restaurants and shops. We stayed for one night during a hike on the Fishermen's Trail and it provided a nice rest stop. The breakfast was excellent. We would stay again.
It was a really nice stay! The hosts João and Mariza were great, always reassuring everything was in order and clean. The location was great too, near the beach by a 5mn walk down the road.i recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in the location for a couple of days!
Such a cute little town and a short walk to the fantastic beach and great restaurants. The hosts were super friendly and the room had a nice balcony. The fridge and private bathroom were great. Great stay couldn’t be happier ❤️
The hotel is well located but you need a car to move around. The room had what you need, bed, bathroom, mini fridge and kettle. The personal was very friendly and attentive. One of the best breakfast that I had in Portugal.
The bungalows are a wonderful retreat from some of the bigger hotels and living next an orange orchard was sublime. The staff bent over backwards to meet all our needs, and everything was perfect!
Stunning, private location. Beautiful, high quality mid century architecture - the building is wonderful. Friendly staff. Great, interesting history with cultural significance to Portugal.
Super friendly staff, the room was even prettier than on the photos and the location really close to the beach !
The service was really good, definitely coming back there!!!
