Redwings Lodge Solihull, hotel in Solihull

Redwings Lodge Solihull is located in Solihull, 10 km from Birmingham Back to Backs and 10 km from Hippodrome Theatre.

The room and bed was fine, just required some where to stay with the dogs for the bank holiday. Shirley park was just behind the building so handy for a walk. Our first two nights were fine very quiet, the car park was right outside, no problems there. All very good until the third night, please read the what not like review.

Property was modern and lovely decor. The room was initially smaller than I thought but still had everything we needed. The hotel was massive so it was a bit of a walk from the room to reception/bar/leisure facilities. The staff were lovely and helpful. The food for breakfast was also delicious and a great range including for guests that have allergies.

The old town has changed beyond recognition.

The old town has changed beyond recognition. Empty shops except for charity shops and 'The Mall', The quality of goods on sale rather poor unless you shop in one of the Pound Shops, John Lewis or Apple. 30 years has impacted negatively on the old Town, M & S gone, House of Fraser, good manners all gone, litter in the streets, even the coffee shops had dirty tables, litter on the floor, sad. Excuse my sarcasm in the next question

Sollihull has a lot to offer in things to do.

Sollihull has a lot to offer in things to do. The local National Institute (Baddesley Clinton) has 2 places to visit in a short driving distance with plenty of walking around the properties. There are restaurants within walking and short driving distances as well as grocery stores.

Didn't really see the place. We were there for an exhibition nearby. There are planty of good restuarants nearby. Just as well because the Regency Hotel restuarant was expensive and not very good.

Solihull is one of the better areas of the West Midlands and offers a pleasant stay and local amenities. Parking in central Birmingham is not easy but a local bus (Route 6) stops right outside the hotel and runs 8 times an hour weekdays, 6 on Saturday's and 4 on Sunday's. In the other direction this runs through to Solihull. This city of Birmingham has lots to see and plenty of shops including the Bull Ring for those looking for a bit of retail therapy.

The hotel is in Knowle, on the outskirts of Solihull. Lots of great restaurants within a few minutes walk. Fantastic Artisan Bakery for sandwiches and deli items. Very convenient to get to NEC. Good walks down the Grand Union Canal.

Charged more money than when we booked through booking.com paid for 3 rooms and all on different floors. Said we had to pay extra for breakfast and charged us £155 a family room which wasn’t a family room no child bed was made up. Room full of marks on walls and ceiling. Ask to speak to manager and no manager was working on Saturday ! Really disappointed with village hotels we expected it to be as good as the Elstree one couldn’t be so different.

The Limes is set in a rural location. Conveniently located for Solihull and Birmingham, the M42 is a short drive away. The hotel itself is nicely set out. The staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds are well cared for, I spent half an hour after breakfast watching the fountain, whilst cool jazz was playing through an outside garden speaker. My room was clean, the bathroom likewise. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant / Bistro bar has a nice menu selection. The food was plentiful, nicely cooked, and well presented.

Room was extremely spacious and well appointed. Everything felt brand new and it was spotless. Excellent breakfast. Pub itself is beautiful (one of my favorites in the area). Food was great value and just lovely (we ate there both nights). Staff were friendly but efficient. Some beautiful walks nearby (Packwood House) Overall faultless.

Lovely location. Nice grounds to walk in with small lake and fountain. Outside dining area & bar looked great. Shame the weather wasn't fit for it to be used. Our room block looked almost brand new - very clean & sharp. Very comfy. Like Prem Inn really. Will definitely stay again when the opportunity arises.

Room was large and comfortable bar and restaurant area very good. A band was playing and there was live Premier League football on TV. Good ale at the bar not your usual naff cream flow and lager which chain hotels always seem to have, the Doombar was well kept and lovely to drink.
