Renovated in 2018, the 4-star Hotel Alto Lido is located in Funchal’s prime area – Lido, 2.5 km from the city centre. The hotel is excellent and good price! The breakfast is more than you could imagine or able to eat. Super clean and modern! Definitely recommend!

As part of the Vila Porto Mare resort, this hotel offers 4 restaurants, 6 bars and 5 swimming pools. Porto Mare features an extensive tropical garden on the Atlantic oceanfront. Great hotel, friendly staff and good food. Pools are are great and the gardens beautiful. Very nice experience provided.

Set within a leafy garden, this hotel boasts an outdoor pool overlooking Funchal coastal cliffs. Pestana Vila Lido Madeira Ocean Hotel‘s studios are spacious and decorated with soft beige colours. The staff was really friendly, location is great, as hotel is right by the ocean. In the evening the sound od waves is the only thin one hears. Self service buffet breakfast was great, there is a lot of choises. When weather was good, you can eat on the terrace. And semi circular room gives beautiful views of the ocean and cliffs near Funchal. Would come again!

Located close to Funchal’s city centre, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Meliã Madeira Mare offers free WiFi, an indoor and outdoor pool and a spa. Exceptional hotel in a dream location. Comfort, spacious room, cleanliness, quiet, very friendly and competent staff. Varied buffet breakfast, for all tastes, with quality dishes. Dinner was a very pleasant surprise, buffet style, with a different theme for each evening, again great quality and diversity. The idea of ​​the voucher for four dinners with a discount is very inspiring. A tip for those who want to make a reservation: opt for the room with a full view of the ocean. You won t regret!

Featuring panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, this luxurious hotel in Funchal offers an indoor and outdoor pool and spa. The rooms include a balcony and cable TV. Room is comfortable. We really liked saunas and indoor pool, saunas are for extra fee. 5 euros. Outdoor pools were heated. Breakfast is regular. But dinners were very good. No regrets we took it. Thank you.

The view was so beautiful and the pool was lovely. It was in the best location to stroll the waterfront shops and easy access to walk to the old town or hop a bus.
