Beautiful hotel with the unique atmosphere. Rooms are nice designed, clean and with comfortable beds. The service was on the highest level and the staff were very kind and helpful. What's more the breakfast was delicious with various options. We had a great time here.

Set in a 12th-Century building, this hotel offers spa facilities and elegant rooms overlooking gardens and the beautiful Tauber Valley. It stands on the edge of Rothenburg’s Medieval town center. Breakfast was excellent.There was a choice of bottled juices, fresh fruit salad , a variety of hams, smoked salmon and eggs cooked to ones liking. The breads offered were varied and fresh as were the butters and jams. Coffee was lovely and tea was offered as was still and sparkling water. Everything was of the highest standard as was the service.

The Hotel Restaurant Staussen is a hidden gem. Exceptional value for money. We stayed for one night and also reserved a table for our evening meal in the restaurant too. Our room was immaculately clean and so comfortable. We enjoyed our meal in the very busy and popular restaurant. I’d recommend reserving your table. Breakfast was a buffet - help yourself to breads, cheeses, ham, delicious yoghurts, fruit, eggs, juices, tea, coffee. perfect to start our day. A perfect, good value, overnight stop, if touring the romantic road.

We would absolutely recommend either of the apartments (Hansel or Gretel). Parking was free and easy.

The hotel is perfectly located on the Romantic Road cycle route - you don’t have to look for it. Bike storage was excellent. Our bikes were locked up inside a garage. We opted for a balcony room for one of us which was amazing with views of neuschwanstein Castle and the lake and mountains. 2 other rooms were without the view but were large and comfortable.

The gym and spa area is very clean and well equipped incl a great view to the mountains. As, I am pregnant, I was amazed how well the kitchen was prepared for that. good size room and very pleasant staff. When I arrived it was raining and I was soaked, I was walking the king Ludwig Way. The Mountain View I was supposed to get from my room was poor, rain clouds everywhere. Next morning however, the clouds had gone and the view was to die for. definitely a hotel I would stay at again.

The hotel was easy to find and we drove directly into the garage which is located under the hotel so from there the elevator leads you directly to the reception. Check-in is automated but there is a polite receptionist who welcomed and guide you. The room we got has almost a panoramic view and since it was quite high we got a quite nice view. We were pleasantly surprised by the interior which feels spacious. The room and bathroom looks and more important; feels clean too. Other important detail is the cushion which is both comfy to rest your back for reading and your head for sleeping.
