One of the best Boutique resorts we enjoyed in Sri Lanka. It is an 8 rooms resort. but we love their hospitality, personal care, Sri Lanka tasty food. Crab curry was amazing. We love their Cement look finish all around the hotel with Rustic joinery and antique items. Room is spacious with all the facilities; bathroom is bit small. Overall, we got more than Value for money for our stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Shiva Sunrise! Had first only booked one night, but ended up staying four nights. It is a small place with five beautiful, brand new bungalows right by Hikkaduwa Lake. Each bungalow has a rooftop terrace, and the semi-open bathroom is so cool. Loved the huge pool with jacuzzi. Shyam is the perfect host, super welcoming and helpful. He served us excellent breakfast with homemade sourdough bread on the rooftop terrace. Loved the peaceful atmosphere, sitting by the lake watching the fishermen paddle by. The beach is a 10-min tuk-tuk ride away (1000 rupees each way). We walked there one day, took us about 30 min. Charlie, the Golden Retriever, greeted us heartily every morning, such a cutie. And it was great chatting with Peter, the owners friend from Austria. Sadly, we did not get to meet the co-owner Andrea who was at home in Austria. We hope to be back!

Very friendly and helpful staff! We could adjust time and menu for our breakfast day before and were allowed to have a late checkout. New modern facilities, big TV with Netflix access, clean rooms, hot water and shower with good pressure, clean cozy territory which is looked after. We totally had the feeling of a private villa (which it almost is, the hotel has only 2 rooms) - great value for the money!

This place doesn’t just feel like paradise, it is paradise ! The whole property is meticulously maintained even during the low season. We stayed one night in Galle and one night in the tropical House. For staying more than one night in the area this is the top choice. Galle old town is only a short drive away, a nice beach nearby and best value for money. Last but not least we had the best Sri Lanken food of our 3 weeks journey prepared by the lovely staff.
