The family that runs this place is wonderful. They're very friendly and helpful and know the area well. The room and bed were comfortable, the Family Mart next door was convenient, and the breakfast provided was oishii!

The owner is one of the nicest and warmest people I have met. The bed was even nicer than that of a much more expensive ryokan. The train ride to the guesthouse was scenic, the location of the accommodation is perfect, the eateries nearby are all good. The place itself was spotless with a really nice shower room. Everything was perfect. I can't recommend it enough.

Located a 12-minute walk or a 3-minute bus ride from JR Kochi Station north exit, Katsuo Guest House offers Japanese-style dormitory rooms with air conditioning. The guest house is very comfortable and welcoming! It is located near bus station and around 10mins walk to Kochi train station, so it is very convenient. The common area and rooms are maintained well (very new) and very clean. Most importantly, the staffs and owners are very friendly and kind! I had enjoyed my four nights stay here a lot and meet many great people! :) Highly recommend to travellers who visit Kochi!

It's the highlight of this trip to Japan. We enjoyed the paper making experience, the place and property. Very peaceful and beautiful location. Surrounded by mountains, trees and seas of clouds. The night sky was the most beautiful we have seen in our lives. Yancy was a very nice and friendly host.
