The hotel was originally built in the 17th century and is the oldest bar/hotel still operating in Lancaster. With luxurious rooms and comfortable furnishings, the hotel is an ideal base for an upmarket stay in the city.

This is central Lancaster, yet it's in a quiet spot beneath the castle, and near the bus station. There's a bar/restaurant below with great food (including smashing breakfasts and enormous pies). It was cosy, clean and freshly decorated (in our room, the corridors are clearly undergoing renovation) and the shower was super powerful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was great and nicely presented, and we loved how we could nip down to dinner in the evening and back up to bed. Couldn't have asked for more really! I'd recommend!
