A beautiful condo - extremely well equipped with everything you might need on a holiday. You can tell there is a lot of care and love gone into this place by the owners. The communication from them was excellent. It’s a 1km walk or drive into the main resort which has lots of restaurant options and basic store. We travelled in early June so it was a bit before the Summer season, so things were quieter during the week, but this meant more tranquility to enjoy the beautiful surrounding nature. If you are visiting before the end of June check pool opening times - it was only open Fridays/Saturdays when we visited but the sauna/steam room was open every day.

The mattresses were great though the frames squeeked. The tile at the entry and bathroom were nice, although gaps and poor installation were evident. Close to the city centre.

ALL and I mean all the doors we saw gave evidence of having been broken into with a crowbar. Hinges on all the exterior units are on the outside....it would be so easy to pop them off to break into your room. All the rooms have keys (which could be replicated...this is not normally my first thought but in this location it is) and wobbly door knobs. These things make break-ins easy. We showed in Halifax late Saturday after missing our ferry the day before. We did not know there were three major events taking place in the city. The inventory was low and the prices were high! We pulled into this location, which was a little tricky to find. The hotel was older but the neighbourhood seemed nice. It was off-putting to see two men, both in pj pants and wife beaters, and a woman also disheveled in the parking lot all smoking and loudly on their phones. The front desk guy was rude and off-putting. After registering, I was given an exterior room. Outside there were two new men outside on their phones...almost as if there was a side business happening nearby...it was quite obvious. I would have thought this a slum hotel...if I had not paid nearly $300 a night for it. The first room we were placed in was ice cold, run down, smelled of smoke, tv volume did not work, and had evidence of a recent break-in.The front desk guy was rude and hostile. He came to the room saying it always takes 15 minutes for the heat to turn on. Not being stupid, I know this could not be true. I asked for a refund as we did not want to stay there. The worker adjectly refused. He came to the room raising his voice that I had used the room and had to pay for it. I was in it for less than 2 minutes. He agreed to move us to an indoor room after my partner showed him the obvious crow bar marks, though the man was not happy about it. He insisted the painter did the damage when painting over the hardware. What??! The second room had its own host of issues.

The host arranged owner's visit before our check out time, and it influenced our schedule, but she didn't give us any favor when we ask one hour late check out. So we had to leave before owner's visit. a little expensive. When we saw it first in booking.com, it was not expensive, but when we are going to reserve it, suddenly the price goes up more then 200 Can $. I don't understand why it happened.
